Community Awareness

Archon presented CASA directory Beverly Levey with a check for $450,000 in 2004Archon Group was formed in 1996 to oversee financial assets and properties purchased by parent company Goldman Sachs. From the first, management decisions covered business goals and objectives -- and selection of a charity to sponsor. The reason for selecting a charity, noted Archon Group President Jim Lozier, was to help promote and maintain balance in employees' lives. Balance, he said, encompasses family, self, job, religion and community. "When people aren't balanced, they are unhappy," Lozier said.

Archon has raised over 2 million dollars for Dallas Casa. After putting the matter to an employee vote, Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, was selected as Archon's charity. CASA is a national organization that trains volunteers to represent the interests of children who come before a court of law because of abuse or neglect. Dallas CASA, now in its 20th year, was the third program to be developed in the country. "Volunteers go out and talk to teachers, police, parents, Child Protective Services, lawyers and everyone else involved with the case.

In 2004 Archon has already helped raise $425,000 for CASA with our 8th Annual Presidents Day Golf Classic and has raised over $2,000,000 since beginning the Presidents Day Golf Classic.
